The Applied Science Network Society (ApSNET) of the Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, organized a Workshop on “Soldering and PCB Design” on 18th July 2025 for undergraduate students of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic batches of the .
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ practical skills in soldering electronic circuits and designing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using EasyEDA software. The sessions covered core techniques in soldering and desoldering, as well as the assembly and testing of op-amp inverting amplifier circuits. Participants also engaged in designing PCBs for CD4026-based counter circuits, reinforcing their understanding of digital and analog circuit applications.
The sessions were facilitated by the department’s laboratory demonstrators under the guidance of academic staff. This workshop served as a valuable platform for students to gain hands-on experience relevant to their academic and professional development in applied electronics.
