The workshop on “Microcontrollers” was conducted from November 6-8, 2023, at the Electronics Laboratory of the Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. The workshop was organized by the Faculty Career Guidance Cell (FCGC) of the Faculty of Applied Science. Two lecturers, namely, Eng. S. Jeyaram and Eng. M. P. M. Suhail, from the Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Science, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, served as resource persons for this program. This workshop was aimed to provide a platform to understand the use of microcontrollers and their importance in current technological applications. The program was conducted for second-year undergraduates of the Department of Physical Science.
- Day 1: Introduction to microcontroller structure and programming
- Day 2: Hands-on training in microcontroller systems to solve specific problems
- Day 3: Designing and developing a microcontroller-based line-following robot with obstacle avoidance and rerouting using IoT
Furthermore, the FCGC invited the participants who attended this workshop to a microcontroller-based robotics competition, which will be held on November 29, 2023.
